Winter Birds in Our Area

This weekend is going to the birds!  Check out these winter bird events.

Road Birding Winter Bird Watch:  The Kane County Audobon Society will host a road birding winter bird watch at 8 a.m. Saturday, January 19, at the Hickory Knolls Discovery Center in St. Charles. Participants should meet at the nature center to carpool.  For more information, call Jerry Hope at 630-377-1444. Hickory Knolls Discovery Center is at 3795 Campton Hills Road, .2 miles west of Peck Road, in St. Charles.

Birds of Illinois Winter Exhibit:  The Geneva Park District presents Birds of Illinois Winter Exhibit at the Peck Farm Park Interpretive Center in Geneva through February 23.  Did you know there are over 10,000 species of birds in the world? Learn and explore the species found in your own backyard and across Illinois in this free exhibit. Discover endangered birds of Illinois, how birds build nests, different feather uses and other fascinating bird knowledge. The exhibit is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
