Fermilab public events, tours suspended because of government shutdown

BATAVIA – All Fermilab public events and tours have been suspended because of the lapse in federal funding that has resulted from the partial government shutdown that is in effect.
One such event has been rescheduled. The "Physics of Superheroes" event, which had been set for Friday, instead is set to take place at 8 p.m. Dec. 6. Tickets issued will be valid for the December event, according to a news release issued by Fermilab.
"If you already have tickets [either in your possession or at will call] and wish to attend this event, there is no need to do anything as your tickets will be good," the release stated. "If your tickets are at will call, we will be mailing those to you in the next week."
Those wanting to exchange tickets to another lecture or get a refund should send email to email@example.com or call 630-840-2787. Customers should include a daytime phone number. Those seeking a refund can mail tickets to Fermilab Lecture Series, PO Box 500, MS 111, Batavia, IL 60510. Those who want a refund, with the tickets are currently at will call, should send an email or call, and the refund will be processed, the release stated.
