Fermilab to host Physics Slam event

BATAVIA – Fermilab's Physics Slam 2013 will take place at 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15, at Fermilab's Ramsey Auditorium, located at Wilson Hall. The entrance to Fermilab is located at Pine and Kirk roads.
During Physics Slam 2013, multiple physicists will duke it out in short presentations about their respective topics, and the audience decides the best one.
College of DuPage speech professor Chris Miller will emcee the event, which also will feature Don Lincoln, Hugh Lippincott, Tia Miceli, Brian Nord and Chris Polly. Topics that will be discussed include "Recreating the Big Bang in the Lab;" "Hunting for Dark Matter;" "The Case Files of the Neutrino;" "Cosmic Nightly News: A Day in the Life of the Universe;" and "Universal Mysteries: Revealing Clues with Muons."
Tickets cost $7. Last year, tickets to the event sold out.
