Experience the beauty of the holiday this year. Aurora's Holiday Festival of Lights is one of the largest in the Chicagoland area. This festival runs through December 26 at Phillips Park, with thousands of beautiful lights setting the holiday mood. Hours are Sunday through Thursday from 5 to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 5 - 10 p.m. Admission is free.For more information, please visit www.aurorafestivaloflights.com. 20,000 twinkling lights and spectacular displays transform Cosley Zoo in Wheaton into a fairy tale winter wonderland from Thanksgiving Friday through the end of December. The lights come on at 3 pm and the zoo closes at 9 pm. Visit the animals and enjoy a cup of hot chocolate and others treats available for purchase. Zoo admission is free. Celebrate the holidays with the Third Annual Holiday Lights at Mooseheart, running through December 31. This show features over 80 larger-than-life holiday characters, children-oriented figures, mythical creatures, and architectural lighting, throughout a two mile course on the Mooseheart campus. This year offers bigger, better and brighter displays sure to make this event a family tradition for all visitors. Open daily from 5 to 9 p.m. The price is $10 per car (plus an additional $1/pair for 3-D glasses) with 100% of proceeds benefiting Mooseheart Child City & School.
