Asian-Inspired Designs with Twisted Stem

Join Twisted Stem owner/designer John Regan for a class of Asian-inspired designs on January 25, from 6-8 p.m. Most folks have seen variations of the Ikebana-inspired floral designs and frequently comment to themselves how elegant and clean they appear. Well-designed arrangements of this style are carefully planned in their proportions to the container, the space and the mix of plant materials used. Additional emphasis is given to proper mechanics in the building of such a design, so that while it seems delicately balanced it still has structural integrity. In this class you'll look at several visual examples of traditional and contemporary Asian design and students will create their own tranquil arrangement to take home. Students should bring a pocket or paring knife, pruning clippers and whatever food or beverage they may need during the two hour class. The class costs $40 and space is limited so register soon!
