First Friday Night
You don't have to venture far this Friday night to find a family friendly activity close to home! All are welcome at First Friday at Lakeside Legacy Foundation at the Historic Dole Mansion in Crystal Lake on February 4th from 5:00pm-7:30pm. The event is free of charge and includes light refreshments and desserts and a cash bar. This month features three unique exhibits featuring water color, works in oil and fine art photography. The monthly gallery opening is an opportunity for you and your family to participate in the arts by viewing art and mingling with the artists, all while listening to great music by jazz duo Together again. The event also features a culinary demonstration by Chef Linda Rachel. Linda will be baking in the Donna and Joe Vestal Culinary Studio located inside of the Sage Gallery. Guests will taste her amazing bake goods and get an opportunity to interact with Linda and learn more about her upcoming foccacia and bread baking classes at the Dole on February 17th and 19th. This is a new culinary program at the Dole titled Let’s Make and Break Bread the Natural Way! In addition to this new culinary program, Jasmine Rose continues teaching the Creative Apron Series titled Laughing in the Kitchen. Join Jasmine on a culinary trip to Ecuador on Thursday, February 24th at 6:30pm. The exhibit in the Dole Gallery features Fine Art Photography and beautiful architectural images by Ilma Udrenas of Crystal Lake, IL. Over thirty artists of the Lakes Region Water Color Guild are featuring their works in water color in the Sage Gallery. Monica Stanton, a Lakeside Legacy Foundation Resident Partner Artist, has her first gallery show as a new artist in the Lobby of the Arts Park. Artwork by the Resident Partner Artist is also on display in the hallway. All artwork is for sale and a portion of each sale is a tax deductible donation to Lakeside Legacy Foundation. If you are unable to attend this great gallery event, the artwork is on display until February 24th and the galleries are open to the public Monday thru Friday from 9:00am until 5:00pm. March’s First Friday event is on Friday, March 4th and features the artwork and music of the 24 Resident Partner Artists of Lakeside Legacy Foundation. In addition to the art, the resident partners with demonstrate and perform their craft. Discounts will be offered on future lessons and art classes. March’s First Friday will take place from 5:00pm-9:00pm so guests can interact with all the artists!
