Cary Grove’s Got Talent Competition
The 4th Annual Cary Grove’s Got Talent Competition is looking for performers ages 8 through 18 to compete in the community talent show scheduled for Saturday, March 5 at Cary-Grove High School during the 29th Annual Community Showcase hosted by the Cary Grove Area Chamber of Commerce. Performers win cash and other prizes. The talent show is held in the high school’s cafeteria during the Showcase and begins at 10 a.m. Prizes are awarded in two categories – junior performers ages 8 to 12 and teen performers ages 13 to 18. The number of acts in each category is limited and open to performers on a first-come first-served basis. The competition is open to performers who reside in the 60013 or 60021 area. Application forms to participate in the talent show are available on the Chamber’s website at www.carygrovechamber.com The registration fee is $10. The deadline to apply is February 22. Applicants are asked to bring their own karaoke style music on a CD. A piano will be available. The stage area is 12 x 12 feet. The 2011 Cary Grove Community Showcase will be held on Saturday, March 5 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Cary-Grove High School, 2208 Three Oaks Road, Cary. The Showcase features nearly 100 booths representing local business, community groups and area leaders and puts the spotlight on local resources. The event attracts hundreds of community residents. Booths for the Showcase are still available. Application forms to register for a booth are available on the Chamber’s website at www.carygrovechamber.com. The Cary Grove Area Chamber of Commerce is an organization of 500 local business members and professionals, community and non-profit groups and area leaders dedicated to a prosperous local economy and a high quality of life for area residents.
