Ayu means ‘life’ and veda means 'science'. So the literal meaning of Ayurveda is science of life. It is the powerful natural healing system for body, mind and spirit with an antiquity and parallel to the Yoga Tradition. Ayurveda is about balancing your body with nature and the 5 elements; earth, air, space, fire and water. Everyone is a unique combination of the elements resulting in a special energy pattern. Ayurveda’s goal is to achieve health by working towards balance and harmony of your particular energy pattern, or Dosha. In this Workshop you will gain the basic understanding of the philosophy of Ayurveda and how to apply it to your body, nutrition, daily regimen and yoga practice. You will discover your physical, mental and emotional constitution, or Dosha, according to Ayurvedic principles. They are Vatta, Pitta and Kapha.
