Dodgeball Tournament
Carpentersville Professional Firefighters Host 1st Annual Dodgeball Tournament Members of the Carpentersville Professional Firefighters Union (IAFF Local 4790) are organizing their first annual Dodgeball Tournament. This event is open to the public. Six (6) person teams may consist of all male, female, or co-ed teams ages 16 and up. The event will be held on Saturday, March 5th 2011 at Dundee Crown High School in Carpentersville, IL. IAFF Local 4790 has partnered with the Dundee-Crown Booster Club who will be selling food and beverages at the event.Tournament check in time will begin at 11am with games running from 12-4pm. Teams are encouraged to where interesting and inventive apparel. Registration is now open online at iafflocal4790.org/dodgeball. Specific tournament questions should be directed to Brother Art Carrillo at acarrillo@iafflocal4790.org. Teams can begin registering now. Early bird registration is $120 per team. The last day of early bird registration is Feb 19th, 2011. Early bird registration guarantees your tournament T-shirt to be available the day of the event. Starting February 20th, 2011 team registration will cost $150/team. Teams who register after February 19th, 2011 will still received a t-shirt but it is not guaranteed to be ready the day of the event. Photographers will be on hand taking candid pictures of the games, as well as team photos. All photos will be available for purchase online after the event; links will be posted at iafflocal4790.org. All proceeds from this event will be applied to the union’s general fund. IAFF Local 4790 is a newly organized union. Sponsorships for the event are currently being collected. IAFF Local 4790 is looking for individuals and companies interested in donating raffle prizes, purchasing a booth at the event, or a logo spot on the back of the event t-shirt. Indoor football team Chicago Slaughter will be hosting a post-tournament event at their game against Reading Express. A portion of each ticket will go to support Local IAFF 4790. Additionally, special recognition of the local and the dodgeball champions and the families will be made via PA announcements and electronic ribbon board at the game. Congruently, Bennigan’s restaurant will be hosting before and after the game tailgate parties. There will be a FREE shuttle service to and from the Sears Arena to watch the Chicago Slaughter game.
