Bully Prevention Through Verbal Techniques

Kyuki-Do Martial Arts of Huntley is taking a stand against Bullying by providing a 2 hour Bully Prevention Workshop on Saturday, March 26th. Bullying can be called one of the most damaging events a child, youth, teen, or even an adult can face today! Local Martial Arts Academy owners Rick & Christine Bjorkquist are taking a stand against the ever increasing incidents involving Bullying. “I was picked on, teased, and bullied when I was younger, ” Rick Bjorkquist says, “I was lucky to find a martial arts academy whose emphasis was on developing my self-confidence that helped me to survive the challenges I faced back then. The Bjorkquist’s have joined the nationally recognized program VERBAL JUDO; which was founded by Dr. George Thompson, author of 4 books and a former Police Officer. Through this program, Dr. Thompson has helped over 700, 000 police officers and correctional employees learn how to control their minds and control their speech to control their outcome and deescalate possible confrontations. Now, the amazing VERBAL JUDO program has been modified to teach YOUR children, OUR youth & teens, and YOU adults how to remain calm, utilize “word blocks” to deflect verbal attacks, and redirect it away from themselves. This revolutionary program teaches kids HOW to stay calm when faced by a bully, WHAT to say to a bully, WHO to interact, and finally, WHEN & HOW to respond to the bully.
