Skills for a New Millenium
The Green Sanctuary Committee of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Woodstock, Small Waters Education and McHenry County Transition are organizing the event featuring eight sessions on traditional and modern skills. Participants can choose among workshops on beekeeping, weaving, food preservation/fermentation, building a sense of place, how to build a solar collector, soap making, and raising chickens and goats. They will also screen a short film on the Transition Movement, a worldwide grassroots initiative planning for a future less dependent on fossil fuel energy. The suggested donation for the event is $10.
