Turning Point Offers Domestic Violence Legal Training

Turning Point, McHenry County’s only comprehensive domestic violence service agency and shelter will offer a free training for law enforcement, advocates, prosecutors, social workers and medical personnel. The training will cover civil liability, evidence & testimony, protective orders and victims services and will be presented Tuesday April 5 at the McHenry County College Conference Center from 8 AM until 4 PM. The training is free and lunch and refreshments will be provided. This training is supported by a grant from the Office of Violence Against Women and the U.S. Department of Justice. Speaking at the training will be Mark Wynn, Law Enforcement Educator, Debby Tucker, Executive Director of the National Center on Domestic & Sexual Violence and The Honorable Marshall B. Murray, Milwaukee County Circuit Judge. Training is designed to improve response to domestic violence situations by law enforcement and public safety officials.
