The mission of BATV is to educate, entertain, celebrate, engage and inspire the community through programming that enhances the quality of life for all. BATV (Batavia Access Television, Inc.) is a not-for-profit community television station that serves the communities of the Fox Valley area. Through community television, residents have a source for local news, sports and government action. With experienced staff, volunteers, and interns, BATV has taped over 1,000 hours of events over the past year. The Batavia Public Library houses a collection of more than 195,000 items and offers entertaining and education programs for all ages throughout the year. The St. Charles Heritage Center is a 501(c)3, not-for-profit organization consisting of historic archives and The St. Charles History Museum. The Center serves citizens and the community by collecting, preserving and presenting local and regional history. A former windmill factory at 160 South Water Street in Batavia was beautifully restored in 2009 and is now home to Water Street Studios - unique in it's combination of fine art gallery, classrooms, and artist studios. A first and only for the Fox River valley area, Water Street Studios provides the community opportunities to engage in quality art instruction, to tour working artist studios, to view juried art shows, and to purchase original artwork. WSS hosts many weekend special events.
